NIADA Partners for Recall Awareness

By Staff Writer September 25, 2018

The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association has joined forces with the National Safety Council in support of the council's Check to Protect campaign, which seeks to reduce the number of vehicles with open recalls.

NIADA will promote the campaign and develop innovative strategies to fix recalls in member dealers' inventories.

More than one in five vehicles on the road has an open recall, and many of those recalls can pose risks to their occupants or motorists in other vehicles.

NIADA joins the Governors Highway Safety Association, the National Auto Auction Association, the National Automobile Dealers Association and more than a dozen states in working with the National Safety Council to reduce open recalls.

Drivers can find their vehicle's recall status quickly by visiting www.checktoprotect.org.
